Early Life
Narayan Deka, son of Nabin Deka, is about 53 years of age. He is a resident of Howlighat village, Mouza-Madhyam Barkhetri in the Nalbari district of Assam. He is married to Mamoni Deka and blessed with a daughter and a son.
Education
He is Class 12 (Higher Secondary) pass from Arya Vidhyapeeth College in the year 1988.
Career and Politics
Narayan Deka is the current MLA of the Barketry Assembly constituency. He won the seat in the 2016 Assam Assembly election when he defeated Congress' Diganta Barman, son of four times MLA and former Education minister of Assam, Dr. Bhumidhar Barman, by a margin of 8,613 votes. He bagged 69,223 votes compared to Barman's 60,610 votes. The voter turnout that year was 88.87 percent.
He will re-contesting from the Barkhetry constituency on a BJP ticket in 2021.

According to the nomination filed with the Election Commission of India, his and his spouse's moveable assets are worth Rs. 2.79 crores and Rs. 2.06 crores respectively and their immovable assets are worth Rs. 4.91 crores and Rs. 48.07 lakhs respectively.
