Early Life

Phanidhar Talukdar, son of Late Ratikanta Talukdar, is a resident of Hathinapur village, Patacharkuchi, in the district of Bajali in Assam. He is married to Jamini Talukdar. He is about 54 years of age. 

Education

He is an ITI - Indian Training Institute, Barpeta pass out, 1986 batch. 

Career and Politics

In the 2011 Assam Assembly election, Phanidhar Talukdar contested from the constituency of Bhabanipur. He, with 19,688 votes lost to AIUDF candidate Abul Kalam Azad who secured 28,356 votes. The voter turnout for that year was 78.53 percent. 

In the 2016 Assam Assembly elections, he contested from the constituency of Bhabanipur where he once again lost to AIUDF candidate Abul Kalam Azad in a close contest. He secured 25,837 votes as compared to Azad who secured 28,356 votes. The voter turnout that year was 86.32 percent. 

Phanidhar Talukdar will be contesting in the 2021 Assam Assembly election from the constituency of Bhabanipur as an AIUDF candidate.

According to the nominations filed with the Election Commission of India, his and his spouse's moveable assets are worth Rs. 4.88 crores and Rs. 3 crores respectively and his immovable assets are worth Rs. 3.81 crores.
