Early Life

Pranab Baisnab is the son of Late Sadananda Baisnab. He is about 64 years of age and is a resident of Borpara, Ward no. 22 in the Bongaigaon district of Assam. He is married to Patanjali Baisnab.

Education

He is a Bachelor of Arts from the Goalpara College in the year 1979.

Career and Politics

He was a member of the Indian National Congress, which fielded him in the 2011 Assembly election from the Bongaigaon constituency. He lost to AGP's Phani Bhusan Choudhury who secured 45,871 compared to his 33,474 votes.

He will be contesting the 2021 Assembly election from the Bongaigaon constituency on a National People's Party (NPP) ticket.

He is currently the President of the Bongaigaon Development Committee, Working President of NF Railway Development Committee, and Honorary Secretary of the Bongaigaon district committee, Indian Red Cross Society.

He is the former Chairman at Bongaigaon Municipality and Former Chairman of The Assam Cooperative Spinning Mills Ltd.

According to the nomination filed with the Election Commission of India, his and his spouse's moveable assets are worth Rs. 8,32,063 and Rs. 9,95,591 respectively and their immovable assets are worth Rs. 1.70 crores.
