Baghbar is a substantial village and a circle under Barpeta district/region. The village is authorised by the Sarpanch (the village panchayat). Baghbar forms a part/structure of the Barpeta Lok Sabha/ Parliamentary Constituency. In accordance to Census Record of 2011, the Baghbar circle has inhabitants of around 3707 peoples. Abdul Hamid was the runner-up with 29907 votes. Therefore he lost the MLA seat by 43433 votes.

  • In prior to 2011 and 2016 Assembly Election, a candidate Sherman Ali Ahmed of different parties AIUDF and INC had again won the MLA seat against Dildar Rezza with 60434 and 73340 votes, respectively.
