AAP Shocker: Ashutosh Resigns from Aam Aadmi Party Citing “Personal Reasons”

In a big blow to the Arvind Kejriwal- led Aam Aadmi Party, founder member, spokesperson and senior leader Ashutosh has resigned from the party citing “very very personal reasons”.

The resignation of Ashutosh came at a time when the party is reeling under pressure with charge sheet filed against Kejriwal, Deputy CM and other MLAs of AAP for an alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

Sources, however, claim that the journalist-turned-politician was leaving the party on good terms.

Ashutosh had a long career as a Television journalist and was a prominent figure of Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption crusade before he joined the Kejriwal-brigade to form the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

“Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary has also an end. I have resigned from the PARTY/requested PAC to accept the same. It is purely from a very very personal reason. Thanks to party/all of them who supported me throughout. Thanks,” Ashutosh tweeted.

In his stint with the Aam Aadmi Party, Ashutosh contested the 2014 Lok Sabha Polls on an AAP ticket from Chandni Chowk.

Ashutosh has requested the media to respect his privacy and co-operate and said that he “won’t be giving any bite of any kind”.
