Guwahati: KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi was shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) again on Wednesday morning due to bad health.

Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi was brought to the GMCH a couple of days back for medical treatments.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal instructed to monitor Gogoi’s health and accordingly a team of doctors visited the Gauhati Central Jail to take stock of his health condition.

It may be mentioned that Akhil Gogoi has been staying behind the bars since last year amid the protests of the Citizenship Amendment Act in Assam.

Speaking to the media soon after his medical checkup, KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi said that maximum prisoners in Gauhati Central Jail fall sick due to bad quality of food and lack of treatment.
