Six SBI Security Guards in Nalbari loot Rs 1.5 cr cash from 10 ATM Centres, Arrested

Nalbari: In a startling incident, six security guards at the Nalbari State Bank of India (SBI) were arrested for allegedly looting a cash amount of Rs 1.5 crore.

It's quite shocking as the question arises how did they manage?

As per reports, the accused Security Guards identified as Dipankar Kalita, Bhaskar Kalita, Simanta Barman, Dhiraj Sarma and Jeherul Islam working under ‘Righter’s Business Company’ had looted the cash amount from at least 10 to 15 ATM centres of State Bank of India during their duty hours.

It is to be noted that all the accused joined as a security guard 5 years back and were operating at various SBI ATM centres in Nalbari District.

Meanwhile, Nalbari police had arrested all the main culprits who were directly involved in looting the cash from the ATM centres.

Police also informed that one of the accused Bhaskar Kalita was to collect Rs 10 lakh from the share amount.

It may be mentioned that on the basis of secret information police arrested four prime accused on Friday midnight and two others on Saturday morning.

A case has been registered at Nalbari Police Station.

Further police investigation is on.

Last year, Gorchuk Police in Guwahati conducted a search operation to investigate the SBI ATM loot in Bora Gaon where cash of Rs 18 lakh was stolen. A case was (765/18 u/s 457/380/461 IPC) was registered against it. The search was conducted at Sayed Ali’s house at Roumari in Dodora, Kamrup District. Cash of Rs 6.60 lakh, 3 rounds of bullets of 9 mm pistol, 1 mobile, a dagger, instruments used in the robbery and 2 motor-bikes were recovered from the house of Ali.

The bikes (AS 01 DR 5093) and (AS 01 D 0864) are suspected to be stolen as one has been confirmed. The accused Sayed Ali fled the scene and is in hiding.
