Three Excise officials die in Sumo-Dumper collision in Golaghat, CM Sonowal orders Probe

Golaghat: In yet another horrifying road accident near Morongi village in Golaghat, one Excise Intelligence Bureau officials and one excise constable died on the spot after a severe head-on collision between a Tata Sumo car (AS 01AJ 0401) and dumper truck (NL 05G 1049) on Wednesday night.

Soon after the road accident, the Tata Sumo car caught fire leading to the death of Samu Maibangsa (Excise officer) and Ramen Bonjang (Excise Constable).

As per reports, a team of six Excise Intelligence Bureau was heading for Guwahati from Golaghat when their car collided with a dumper truck coming from the opposite direction.

The other four injured excise officials were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, however, one of the excise officials Harekrishna Kumar was declared brought dead.

On the other hand, Excise officials Tanu Inja and Sundar Bari are undergoing treatment at Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) and Jahidul Haque has been shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital for better medication.

Excise Minister Parimal Suklabaidya expressing his deep shock at the tragic road accident informed that the expense of the treatment of those injured officials will be borne by the State Government.

The minister also had directed the top officials of GMCH regarding providing the best treatment to the injured.

Minister Parimal Sukalabaidya further instructed the Kamrup Excise Inspector Debojit Nath to supervise the entire exercise.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed Upper Assam Divisional Commissioner Juri Sonowal to probe the whole matter.
