Upoar in Dhing after Mother allegedly kills son, Buried body recovered from backyard

Dhing: In a strange incident, a mother allegedly killed his own son past one and half months back and later buried his body behind the backyard of her residence in Nagaon's Dhing.

As per the allegations, local claimed that the woman had allegedly tortured her own son and later killed him for her personal gains, however, the matter is suspicious and an investigation has been conducted in connection to the matter, said police sources.

Following the recovery of the body of the deceased person identified as Bitupan Bora on Friday, angry locals ransacked and burned-out home of the woman.

Later, Dhing police reached the spot and brought down the situation under control. The police also detained the woman and her daughter for questioning.

On the other hand, son-in-law of the woman Kishore Kumar Deka, a TET-qualified teacher by profession escaped from the spot.

A section of locals also alleged that the brother of the woman and village headman was also involved in the murder.

Meanwhile, speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, Sankarbrata Rai Medhi said, "Nagaon police are investigating the case, and prima facie, it seems that the woman might have some involvement in the case, however, it is too early to comment on the matter as of now. We have sent the body for post mortem and our investigation is on. A case has also been registered."
