Burglar escaped from Interrogation Room at Sonari Police Station

Sonari: In a startling incident, a burglar managed to escape from interrogation room at Sonari Police Station in Charaideo District on Wednesday night.

As per reports, the burglar identified as Pankaj Das was earlier apprehended by local people in the area and later he was handed before to Sonari Police.

However, taking advantage of the darkness in the midnight hours, the burglar managed to escape from the interrogation room by breaking the ventilator.

The incident had also raised security concerns in the area.

Further police investigation is on.

In a sensational incident, the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu recently rusticated seven students of the Academy for alleged burglary of two packets of Nestle Maggi noodles from the hostel canteen.

While highlighting details on the rustication here at the Press Club here on Tuesday, one of the mothers of the rusticated students Metung Loham said that the school authorities claimed to have documentary evidence of the crime but failed repeatedly to show the CCTV camera footage. She informed that according to the school authorities, the footages have been misplaced.

She added that the exact date of the alleged incident is also not clear as of now and that the authorities concerned are yet to prove their allegations beyond doubt. Loham informed that the school’s authority has also failed to respond to the Child Welfare Committee, Itanagar Capital Complex’s direction to submit a detailed report.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Schools Education, Itanagar Capital Complex had in August constituted a team to inquire over the matter and the team led by the DDSE, ICC in its comprehensive report upheld the school’s decision while stating that the action was taken to safeguard the integrity of the institution.
