On duty Army Jawan from Assam's Badarpur dies in Haryana after suffering from High Fever

Hailakandi: A body of a soldier in Haryana was brought to his native place at Umarpur under Badarpur Thana of Karimganj District on Saturday.

As per reports, the dead body of Jawan Soumit Dey (35) of 5th Punjabi Army Regiment was brought to his home in Badarpur.

It is to be noted that the army officer fell ill during his service in Haryana last Wednesday.

Later, he was admitted at Army Clinic in Delhi for immediate treatment, though Soumit Dey gave up after sudden cardiac arrest.

On Saturday, the mortal remains of the Army jawan were brought to his native village by a team from Delhi.

After receiving the body at the Silchar Airport, the army of Silchar Masimpur brought the body to Badarpur Umarpur at his house.

Later, the final rites of the deceased jawan were performed with full dignity.

Earlier Basab Dutta, a jawan of Indian Army and son of Janguram Dutta of Dikhowmukh Gayan Gaon on the outskirts of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district, died on duty in the year 2017. He was 43.

Basab had been deployed in the Indian Army as a Havildar in 13 Guards at the camp of Joychalmar in Rajasthan along the India-Pakistan border.

According to family sources, he went for the regular parade and after coming back he started feeling uneasy. He told his wife and soon suffered a cardiac arrest. He was taken to the army hospital but he breathed his last in the hospital. His demise has been widely mourned in the entire Dikhowmukh area.

The very next day his body was taken to his native village by the Indian Army officials led by a Colonel and his fellow jawans. After giving full military honour, his last rites were performed. He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives.
