Barpeta: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that only the BJP-led NDA can free Assam from infiltrators and prevent any demographic change in the state.

Addressing a rally in Barpeta in support of AGP candidate Dipak Kumar Das, Adityanath accused the Congress of failing to protect the state during its long tenure in power.

“The Congress ruled Assam for 60 years but only promoted infiltration, violence and unrest, putting the state’s culture and heritage at risk,” he alleged.

He also targeted the AIUDF, claiming that the party was encouraging infiltrators and seeking political gains with their support.

“The Congress and AIUDF are collaborating to weaken the state’s cultural and traditional identity,” he added.

The UP Chief Minister asserted that the NDA government would ensure peace and security in Assam.

Highlighting the NDA’s governance model, Adityanath said the alliance is committed to ensuring both heritage and development.

“Assam has undergone major change in the last 10 years, and I seek your continued support for the NDA,” he avowed.

Taking a swipe at the Congress over the cancellation of its Barpeta candidate’s nomination, he said the party had “fled the battlefield even before the election.”
