NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries on Friday reported a 22.50 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 16,203 crore compared with Rs 13,227 crore in the same quarter last year.

Revenue from operation rose 36.79 per cent YoY to Rs 211,887 crore compared with Rs 154,896 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company board has recommended a dividend of Rs 8 per share.

For the year, the company reported a revenue of Rs 7,92,756 crore or $104.6 billion, making it the first-ever firm to hit $100 billion revenue mark.

The operating margin for the quarter came in at 10.1 per cent, compared with 10.6 per cent in the December quarter and 9.5 per cent in the year-ago quarter.

Net margin for the quarter came in at 7.7 per cent, compared with 9.8 per cent in the December quarter and 8.7 per cent in the year-ago quarter.

"Despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic and heightened geo-political uncertainties, Reliance has delivered a robust performance in FY2021-22. I am pleased to report strong growth in our Digital Services and Retail segments," said Mukesh D Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director, Reliance Industries.

"Our O2C business has proven its resilience and has demonstrated strong recovery despite volatility in the energy markets," he added.

RELIANCE JIO

>Gross revenue for the quarter was Rs 26,139 crore ($3.4 billion), higher by 20.7%

>EBITDA for the quarter was Rs 10,918 crore ($ 1.4 billion), increase of 27.4%

>Net profit for the quarter was Rs 4,313 crore ($ 569 million), growth of 22.9%

>Cash profit for the quarter was Rs 9,623 crore ($ 1.3 billion), growth of 24.0%

>Total customer base as on 31st March 2022 of 410.2 million

>ARPU during the quarter of Rs 167.6 per subscriber per month

>Total data traffic was 24.6 billion GB during the quarter; 47.5% growth

Meanwhile, the retail arm of the behemoth Reliance Retail delivered its best-ever quarterly revenues even surpassing the festive quarter performance despite the challenges posed by the spread of Omicron wave and coming out from the festive quarter.

The business recorded gross revenue of ₹58,017 crore for the quarter under review, a growth of 23% over last year, with broad based double-digit growth across all consumption baskets.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹3,705 crore, up 2.4% year-on-year, led by robust performance in fashion and lifestyle and grocery consumption baskets.
