CM allays fears over use of old question papers for Matric exam

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has allayed apprehensions regarding the use of question papers prepared in 2021 in the High School Leaving (HSLC)/Assam High Madrassa (AHM examination 2022, which will be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) from March 15 to March 31.

Talking to the media here on Friday, the Chief Minister said that it was an administrative decision of the SEBA and there is no need for the guardians of candidates to feel worried.

He said, "The question papers which will be used in this year's examination may have been prepared last year, but they are unused."

Sarma said that the question papers had been printed by spending several crores of rupees from the public exchequer and these cannot be simply torn up and discarded. The SEBA had preserved the question papers which remained unused and there was no possibility of these getting leaked.

"There is no reason to waste public funds by preparing a new set of question papers when the earlier ones are unused and well-preserved," Sarma asserted.
