Dibrugarh Hosts Nutrition Awareness Programme Under Poshan Pakhwada 2025

DIBRUGARH: The Field Outreach Bureau (FoB), Dibrugarh, operating under the Central Bureau of Communication, conducted a special awareness programme under the 'Poshan Pakhwada 2025 initiative' at Khachomari Deori Gaon, Khamtighat, on Wednesday.

The event was part of the ongoing nationwide campaign to promote health and nutrition through the Poshan Abhiyan.

As part of the programme, infants were screened for nutritional status based on key health parameters such as weight and height. The event aimed to sensitise the local community, especially women, on the importance of nutrition, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.

Key issues such as malnutrition, iron deficiency, and the importance of timely immunisation for children were addressed during the programme sessions. A quiz competition on various aspects of nutrition and health was also organised to engage the community. Prizes were distributed to the winners, adding an interactive and educational dimension to the awareness drive.

The seventh edition of Poshan Pakhwada was formally inaugurated at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the Sivasagar District Commissioner’s Office with a ceremonial candle lighting on April 5.

The event was attended by Additional District Commissioner (Social Welfare) Geetalee Duwara, Election Officer and Branch Officer (Social Welfare) Barnali Khatiwara, District Social Welfare Officer Upama Saikia, along with officials from various departments.
