AAHGVWA stage dharna seeking amendment to Assam Home Guard Act, 1947

GUWAHATI: Members of the All Assam Home Guard Volunteer Welfare Association (AAHGVWA) staged dharna here on Wednesday seeking amendment to the Assam Home Guard Act, 1947 so as to make it in sync with time and regularize the services of home guards. They also demanded hike in remuneration of home guards as is the case in other States. For women home guard personnel they raised the demand for special leave along with other facilities.
