GUWAHATI: Assam's traditional strengths in AYUSH, tea, and fragrance & flavours took centre stage at the "Advantage Assam 2.0 - Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025." A session titled "AYUSH, Tea, and Fragrance & Flavours," held on Tuesday at Dhansiri Hall, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and international experts to discuss sustainable growth, innovation, and global market opportunities in these key sectors.

The session began with a context-setting address by Aruna Rajoria, Commissioner and Secretary, Agriculture Department, Assam, who underscored the state's rich heritage in plant-based traditional medicines, fragrances, and flavours. She highlighted the immense potential for employment generation in these industries.

Delivering the welcome address, Atul Bora, Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, etc., Assam, emphasized the state's efforts to foster an investment-friendly climate. He stressed that these industries could significantly contribute to employment generation, sustainability, and Assam's export potential, reinforcing the state's agricultural economy.

Providing an international perspective, Hervé Delphin, EU Ambassador to India, delivered the keynote address, outlining Assam's opportunities in global markets, particularly the European Union. He emphasized the importance of innovation, sustainability, and international collaborations to position Assam's tea, AYUSH, and fragrance sectors on the global stage.

A panel discussion, moderated by Poul V. Jensen, Managing Director, EBTC, featured industry leaders, including Anja Carron (COO, Inlamobi) and Sumit Dasupta (MD, Mane), among others.
