Agitation Threat by Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA)

GUWAHATI: Questioning the irregularities by the Police Recruitment Board, the Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA) on Wednesday said that “the sangstha will be compelled to opt for a violent agitation if the government fails to convince them on their demands.

Addressing a press meet at Guwahati Press Club, PSSA secretary Nripen Malakar said that “after repeated demands the Assam government announced that there are 4,419 vacant posts for the pratibandhis of which advertisements for a total of 863 posts were published a year ago. The interview was also held for the filling up 352 grade III posts and the results were announced. However, the Sangstha found a lot of irregularities in the recruitment process and appealed to the government to look into the matter.”

Malakar said, “Besides the issue related to the Police Recruitment Board, the we have found it disappointing that in the recent advertisement published by the Irrigation department there’s no reservation for the pratibandhis. We, however, submitted a memorandum in the Irrigation department to republish the advertisement, but the department seems to take no initiative in this regard.”
