PSSA resentment over notice by Police Recruitment Board

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Enraged by the outrageous recruitment notice by the State Level Police Recuitment Board, the Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam (PSSA), demanded for immediate withdrawal of the notice.

PSSA secretary Nripen Malakar, while addressing the media on Tuesday said, “The notice is nothing but a mockery of our condition and a ridiculous one at that. The digital viva test was for the post of Grade IV, reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) of different departments under the State Government, to be held on December 16, 2019. The various criteria demanded to pass the test is wholly absurd for the concerned post and especially for PwDs.”

As per the notice, there will be three questions each on history of Assam, GK, culture polity, geography and economy of Assam. Malakar scorned that to add insult to injury, marks are also to be allocated as per experience. 1 mark for less than 4 years of experience, 2 marks for less than 6 years of experience, 3 marks for less than 8 years of experience, 4 marks for less than 10 years of experience, and 5 marks for experience of 10 years and above. Extra 5 marks for representing India in international events and 1 mark for representing State in national events. A computer course earns extra three marks, and the list goes on.

“Such outrageous demands for the post of Grade IV recruitment is nothing but a scam to hurt the sentiments of the PwD and ensure that they do not qualify for the post. During the advertisement on December 30, 2018, the minimum qualification for the post was VIII standard pas and now, they have tremendous changes in the current notice. We will not stand for it. We demand that the notice is withdrawn within 24 hours and if the same is not carried out, we will start a continuous protest demonstration from November 28,” said Malakar.
