BOKO: Angshuman Kalita, elder son of Gokul Chandra Kalita and Aditi Kalita from Dakuapara village in Boko, has been selected as a Scientist 'C' in the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). On Wednesday, the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), South Kamrup, felicitated Angshuman Kalita for his success.
AASU unit general secretary Ajit Ali expressed that they feel proud of Angshuman Kalita as he will be part of the prestigious organization ISRO. Later he was felicitated by the Asom Jatiya Mahila Parishad at his residence.
Angshuman Kalita studied at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Boko, and later he passed out from NIT, Silchar, in Mechanical Engineering in 2021. Later he passed the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) examination and worked for six months at BARC. However, after six months, he sat for the examination of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and passed out with 40th position in the All India ranking.
Kalita said that he has been appointed as scientist 'C' in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Thiruvananthapuram. It is the lead centre of ISRO working on the design and development of launch vehicle technology and will join VSSC on 14th February. Angshuman Kalita also emphasized that he never took any coaching (offline) for the examinations he passed and got appointed to ISRO as well as BARC. "I did not think that someday I would work in India's topmost organizations like BARC and ISRO. However, I thought that if I had potential, then I would pass, and likewise, I have sat for the exams as well," Angshuman Kalita added.
