Guwahati: Under the ‘Pratyasha’ initiative of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), special financial aid has been announced for candidates from Assam who have qualified for the UPSC Mains examination. This year, candidates from Assam who have cleared the Preliminary Examination under UPSC civil service and are preparing for the Mains will get this assistance. A total of Rs 50,000 will be provided to each of the 9 shortlisted candidates as financial aid for preparing for the UPSC Mains exam. The selected candidates are Rituraj Sharma, Manab Khakhlari, Debashish Bora, Bashab Ranjan Dahal, Aditya Bishwakarma, Kalapayan Das, Bibhuti Handique, Subhadeep Basumatary, Kautilya Kamal Buragohain.
AASU president Utpal Sharma and general secretary Samiran Phukan stated that the selected candidates will have to submit their training documents and details through email to aasu.assamofficial@gmail.com to avail the financial aid.
Meanwhile, the organization informed that for the upcoming batch, 26 candidates from Assam and 14 candidates from other North Eastern states, a total of 40 students, will be sent to Delhi for full-time UPSC (civil services) coaching through AASU’s initiative.
