PALASBARI: A farewell meeting was organized at the 31 No. Dahali Lower Primary School at Batarhat under Rampur Elementary Education Block in Kamrup district, where Anil Kalita, Head Teacher, was accorded farewell on Friday. In the farewell meeting, Mantu Kumar Nath, President of the School Management and Development Committee (SMDC), presided and Barun Nath, member of the SMDC committee, anchored.
Gitika Nath, retired teacher, Saraswati Thakuria, member of South Kamrup Press Club, Writer Homen Medhi, socio-political Analyst Dr Chinmoy Kalita, prominent Journalist Gagan Kalita, Jitumoni Das, along with the dignitaries present in the farewell meeting recalled Anil Kalita’s 36 years of contribution to teaching in the school. Kalita was felicitated with a phulam gamosa, horai, citation, Bhagavad Gita, and religious books from the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
Kalita, who taught at the school for 36 years, recalled his memories at the farewell ceremony. He urged the students to set goals and increase their willpower and urged the parents to be active in this regard.
After the farewell ceremony, everyone took Kalita to his house in a huge procession.
