The commissioning process covers five assembly constituencies whose second randomization has already been completed — 33-Dispur, 34-Dimoria (SC), 35-New Guwahati, 36-Central Guwahati, and 37-Jalukbari.
The process began on March 31, 2026, at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Betkuchi, Guwahati, in the presence of contesting candidates or their authorised representatives.
The District Election Officer requested that all contesting candidates or their authorised representatives be present during the commissioning process. Official intimations had already been sent to all concerned parties in advance.
Officials emphasised that the commissioning of second-randomized EVMs and VVPATs is a critical step in ensuring transparency and integrity in the election machinery ahead of polling day.
The District Election Officer also reaffirmed the administration's commitment to conducting a free, fair, and smooth election across Kamrup Metropolitan district.
