GUWAHATI: The Assam Government constituted a four-member Cabinet sub-committee with Finance Minister Ajanta Neog as the chairperson to look into the demands of a hike in remuneration wages and pay of ASHA workers, ASHA helpers, and mid-day meal workers. The other members of the Cabinet subcommittee are Health & Family Member Welfare and Irrigation Ashok Singhal; Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu; Water Member Resources, Information & Public Relations, Printing & Stationery, and Social Justice & Empowerment Department Minister Pijush Hazarika.
The committee shall undertake the responsibility to review the grievances of the ASHA workers, ASHA helpers, and mid-day meal workers and submit its recommendations by February 15, 2025, for further action by the government.
The Commissioner and Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, will provide necessary support to the sub-committee in facilitating interactions and meetings with stakeholders, as well as assisting in the drafting of the committee's recommendations.
