Assam: Police arrested four cattle thieves in Azara

PALASBARI: In the midst of reports of thriving cattle smuggling syndicates making the rounds, four cattle thieves were arrested after they picked up a cow in a Maruti eco vehicle from Garal and then they picked up a another cow in the same vehicle at Sajjanpara near Ecoland in Azara on Wednesday.

According to police, locals caught the thieves at Sajjanpara while they loading a cow in the vehicle.

The arrested victims were identified as Raja Ali (22) of Hajo, Riazul Haque(19) of Mukalmua, Maidul Ali (22) and Rahim Badshah (30) of Tarabari in Barpeta district.
