Assam Police detains former MLA’s son for drunk driving

GUWAHATI: Assam Police is taking all major steps to apprehend those people who get themselves intoxicated and drive, which creates chaos in the streets. In that connection, the police detained the former Minister and MLA’s son from the Jorabat area in a drink and drive case on Friday night. They were coming from Nagaon to Guwahati. According to sources, the MLA’s son also misbehaved in the mid-night hours with the Jorabat police as he was inebriated. Along with the MLA’s son, the police also detained two other mates of his. They were detained by the police for the whole night, and then on Saturday morning they were released, and a fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on them.
