GUWAHATI: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, demanding his immediate dismissal. Speaking at a press conference held at Rajiv Bhawan, senior Congress leader and former APCC president Ripun Bora accused the CM of failing to uphold law and order in the state and abandoning the constitutional duty to protect the citizens of the country. Referring to the recent unrest in Upper Assam in the name of ‘finding out Miyan’, Bora expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law-and-order situation and alleged that the Chief Minister has effectively failed in governance. “Instead of ensuring safety, the CM is now calling upon the people to arm themselves. This is a clear sign of failed state leadership,” he said.
