Guwahati: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam, has announced the introduction of a new Sanskrit textbook titled ‘Ayanam’ for Class VI students. This initiative is aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), 2023, and the book has been offered as an optional subject from the academic session 2025-26.

SCERT Director Dr. Nirada Devi addressed to the Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, stated that the new textbook has been developed and included in the comprehensive list of academic textbooks for the upcoming session. District authorities have been requested to submit relevant details to facilitate the printing of the textbooks as per their needs. This move is part of Assam’s broader efforts to promote classical languages and strengthen foundational education under the revised national curriculum.
