Guwahati: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come out strongly in support of the ongoing eviction drive, hailing it as a “bold and courageous” move to reclaim Assam’s indigenous identity from what it termed as “aggressive demographic infiltration.”

In a statement, state BJP calls the situation a threat to the “soul of Assam.” The BJP praised CM Sarma’s leadership and the ongoing eviction campaign, which has reclaimed over 1.2 lakh bighas of land from illegal occupation. The party termed the drive a strategic move for protecting indigenous rights and urged the government to intensify its efforts.

Appealing for unity, the BJP urged all indigenous citizens to support the state government’s campaign, stating that it represents not just land reclamation, but a broader fight for identity, justice, and survival.
