Bandita Bora Memorial All Assam Debate Completion Concludes In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The teams of St Francis School of Narengi, Delhi Public School and Pub-Guwahati High School bagged the first, second and the third prizes respectively of the second Bandita Bora Memorial All Assam Debate Competition that concluded in Guwahati on Sunday.

As many as 14 teams each comprising two members each took part in the completion. Dr Bidula Sarma, an associate professor of Gauhati University, was the Speaker at the competition. While Namrata Nayak of St Francis School was adjudged the best debater, Jayashree Kalita of Pub Guwahati High School and Rohan Prasad Sarma of St Francis School were adjudged the second and the third debaters respectively. Niloy Kumar Jain of Don Bosco School, Guwahati, on the other hand, went with the jury’s special award. The jury comprises Dipak Kumar Sarma, Pranjit Das and Vishal Dev. Police officer and litterateur Nanda Singh Borkola was present on the occasion as the chief guest.

The competition is held yearly by the Bandita Bora Memorial Trust in memory of meritorious student Bandita Bora.
