GUWAHATI: The office-bearers' meeting of the State BJP decided to carry out the 'Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan' of the party from May 30 to June 30, 2023, on the occasion of the BJP-led government at the Centre completing nine years in office on May 30.
As usual, the state BJP held its office-bearers' meeting on the eve of the party executive meeting to be held at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on May 20.
Talking to the media, BJP Assam Pradesh president Bhabesh Kalita said, "Along with the rest of the country, the State BJP will also observe the Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan from May 30 to June 30 on the occasion of the completion of nine years by the BJP-led Government at the centre. We will carry out this drive at each Lok Sabha constituency, Assembly constituency, party mandal, and booth. We will grow our relations with people of all classes and make them aware of the developments that took place during the nine-year BJP rule at the Centre. All BJP ministers, MLAs, MPs, and state- and district-level party leaders will take part in the drive. The office-bearers meeting discussed issues like programmes for the forthcoming International Yuga Day on June 21."
Bhabesh Kalita presided over the office-bearers' meeting held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan here today.
BJP's national vice president and Assam in-charge Baijayant Jay Panda, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, general secretaries, secretaries, vice presidents, the chief spokesperson, the office secretary, and presidents of all BJP morchas were present at the meeting.
The party also held an organizational meeting where the presidents and district in-charges of all 39 organizational districts were present.
