Cartoonist and illustrator Trailokya Dutta passes away

GUWAHATI: Cartoonist and illustrator Trailokya Dutta breathed his last on Wednesday night at a city hospital because of old-age ailments at the age of 90.

Hailed from Ratanpur village of Bajali area, Dutta was honoured with a number of awards in memories of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha, Sonit Konwar Gajen Baruah, Amulya Kakati, and others. He was also awarded with the artiste's pension from Assam government. He was also associated with The Sentinel.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoled the death of the cartoonist and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, AGP president Atul Bora, AASU leaders, and Journalists' Forum Assam (JFA) also condoled the death of the cartoonist.
