GUWAHATI: The protest against Dispur's move to shift the dumping ground from Boragaon (in West Gauhati LAC) to Chandrapur (in Dispur LAC) continued on Friday. The locals of Chandrapur are resorting to different ways of demonstration to oppose the government's decision. In such a protest, artists of the area expressed their resentment through art during a demonstration staged at Chandrapur's Bank Tiniali.

It is to be noted that the protest is being staged under the banner of the DGBMC (Dumping Ground Birodhi Mancha, Chandrapur) since June 26.

Talking to the media, DGBMC president Nitul Kalita said, "This is a people's protest as it is being joined by people from every section of the society. Today, scores of local artists took part in the demonstration. We will send their drawings to the Chief Minister to highlight our demands."

Kalita underlined that the protest will continue until the government rolls back its decision to shift the dumping ground.
