Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka to inaugurate Kapoor Chand Jain Memorial Library Today

GUWAHATI: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka will inaugurate the Kapoor Chand Jain Memorial Library at Shri Digamber Jain Vidyalaya, Mahavir Bhawan, on Sunday. The library has been named after late Kapoor Chand Jain, a social worker, writer and prominent member of the Jain community who served as secretary of Shri Digamber Jain Vidyalaya for 54 years. Jain was associated with the Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) and authored books in Assamese, Hindi, English and Bengali. He received several honours, including the Dr BR Ambedkar Rashtriya Seva Shri Puruskar and awards from the Times of India Foundation and literary organisations. He dedicated his life to social, literary and community service, with his contributions earning recognition from various organisations.
