GUWAHATI: The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) on Monday announced that the Congress-led grand alliance with AIUDF, CPI, CPI (M), CPI (ML), and AnchalikGanaMorcha will move forward on common minimum programme.

Addressing the media, APCC president Ripun Bora made it clear that the parties have forged alliance to root out the BJP (BharatiyaJanata Party) from power and 'save' Assam.

"The Congress has sacrificed for its allies in the past and is ready to sacrifice again to save the State," Bora underlined. The party has also restrained its allies from making controversial remarks.

Further, when questioned about AIUDF supremoBadruddinAjmal drawing falk for making 'controversial' statements, Bora said, "Ajmal has never made anti-Hindu remarks. However, the BJP is the one who is known to make communal remarks."

Congress MP PradyutBordoloi added, "We are going to draw a LaksmanRekhaof common minimum programme for the grand alliance. The Congress will lead the alliance and the other parties will play the role as a minor partner. We have restrained the parties from making communal remarks. The Congress will not tolerate communal statements from any leader."
