Duplicate "Bailey Packaged Drinking Water" Seized in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: On Monday, Noonmati Police arrested a person named Jakir Hussain for carrying 20 Litre duplicate mineral water Jars of "Bailley Packaged Drinking Water".

The city police seized his vehicle bearing a registration number AS-14-AC-0537 on which he was carrying the fake products of drinking water.

According to the appredended driver, a person named Md. Abdul Karim had manufactured the duplicate stocks on a large scale in the factory of Nizara Brand of packaged drinking water located at Salbari, Guwahati.

In relation to the case of supplying duplicate drinking water, the city police have so far arrested Jakir Hussain and also registered an FIR against him. The FIR filed is FIR No: 801/2021 under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 420/472/473/475/476/485/486.

The police in a press statement said that the case is not just about the business of fake products but it is also a great risk for consumers consuming duplicate products like this. The city police urged people that consumers should make sure about the hologram neck seal before thinking of buying any such product.

Bailley Mineral water products are the product of Parle Agro Pvt. Ltd. which is manufactured and marketed by Uday Agro Products Private Ltd, Guwahati. The price of one liter Bailley Packaged Drinking Water is Rupees 110.

It is very important for people to check whether products are real of fake because they are often misused by some frauds for their own benefits. Drinking water is the basic need of people and it may cause health issues if drinking water are not pure so ensuring the product's hologram neck seal must be the priority for consumers before buying it.
