Employer shoves maid from 3rd floor of house in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly pushed her 15-year-old maid from their third floor house in the Beltola area on Monday.

According to police sources, the victim, who hails from Tangla, sustained severe injuries to her neck, chest, back and arms. She has been admitted to a city hospital in a critical condition.

The accused employer, Banashree Sarkar, and her sister have been picked by the police for interrogation. Sarkar is accused of abusing the maid because the latter wanted to return to her home. It has also been alleged that the maid has been paid just Rs 1,000 so far despite the fact that she has been working for the Sarkars since January this year.
