Ex-All Assam Students' Union (AASU) leader Ajit Bez no more

GUWAHATI: Former All Assam Students' Union (AASU) leader Ajit Bez passed away at this residence in Uzan Bazar on Thursday night after protracted illness. He was 65.

He was cremated at the Nabagraha cremation ground on Friday in the presence of his relatives and admirers.

Bez was a member of the AASU executive committee during 1972-1973. Later, he served as the vice-chairman of ARTFED. He was associated with several Bihu and Puja celebration committees. Lately, he was a member of the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP). Bez, a bachelor, leaves behind his mother, brother and sisters.
