Five drug peddlers held in Noonmati

GUWAHATI: A Police team busted a drug-trafficking racket and arrested five drug peddlers in the Noonmati area here on Thursday night.

The joint team from Noonmati Police Station and SOG (Special Operations Group) of CGPD (Central Guwahati Police District) seized 16 gram of heroin along with other vital items.

The detained peddlers have been identified as Ankurjyoti Das, Md Rahul Hussain, Ajit Saikia, Rajib Rajbongshi and Kishor Sarmah. Police revealed that the seized items included 50 vials of suspected heroin equivalent to 16 gram; 107 empty vials; 12 mobile handsets; and 15 syringes.
