Guwahati: Gauhati University has successfully conducted the B.Ed Common Entrance Test (GUBEDCET-2025) on Sunday, registering an impressive 96.58% attendance rate across 18 centres in 16 cities of Assam. Of the 15,282 registered candidates, 14,760 appeared for the examination, reaffirming the University’s standing as one of the region’s most trusted academic institutions. A major chunk of the candidates—3,332 in total—appeared at the Gauhati University centre alone.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta called the high turnout a reflection of the trust and aspirations students continue to associate with the University. “The overwhelming participation in GUBEDCET-2025 is an affirmation of the growing trust and aspiration students associate with Gauhati University. Our mission has always been to inspire, enable and empower students, and this response encourages us to keep raising the bar,” he said.

Registrar Dr Utpal Sarma highlighted the smooth conduct of the exam. “The successful and glitch-free conduct of GUBEDCET-2025 reflects the University’s meticulous planning and commitment to academic excellence. We thank all stakeholders for ensuring a smooth process and wish all candidates the very best.” Gauhati University, which recently featured in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 and received NAAC A+ accreditation, has been consistently expanding its academic reach. The B.Ed entrance test comes shortly after the successful conduct of the University’s Postgraduate Entrance Examinations, where over 42,000 applications were received for around 4,500 seats.
