GMC continues eviction drive of poultry shops in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) conducted an eviction drive for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday, on Bharalumukh, Fatasil, Colony Bazar, Kahilipara, Lal Ganesh and Lokhra. The veterinary branch of the GMC inspected a total of 108 poultry shops and evicted 63.

Two shops were evicted from Bharalumukh and a fine of Rs. 1,500 was imposed. One shop was evicted from Fatasil with a fine of Rs. 500. A total of 40 shops were evicted from Colony Bazar and 5 shops from Lalganesh with a fine of Rs. 1000.

Meanwhile, the health branch inspected 22 hotel fast foods, restaurant from Odalbakra Road, Lalganesh, Lokhra Road and M.C Road High Court. A total of Rs. 11,500 was imposed.

The Hoarding Branch of GMC dismantled 96 Kiosks from Panbazar to Jalukbari, Commerce College area, RGB Road, Zoo Road and Ganeshguri.
