GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) Veterinary Branch took cattle from Boragaon Dumping Ground under the guidance and supervision of GMC Commissioner Devajyoti Hazarika.

In a press release the GMC stated that the step has been taken to get rid of the inconvenience being caused in the movement of GMC waste dumping vehicles. The release further said that many cattle were found wandering in the dumping ground, and a total of 35 cattle have been taken to Jalukbari Animal Pound. It is to be mentioned here that the owners of the cattle can get their cattle freed by paying Rs. 500 each as fine. If no one claims for the cattle within seven days, they will be auctioned.
