Guwahati: 12 Lost Mobile Phones recovered by Railway Protection Force

Guwahati: In a significant achievement, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Post at Guwahati has successfully recovered 12 lost mobile phones, collectively worth approximately Rs 1.5 lakh, in 2025 alone through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal.

A Realme P1 Pro 5G smartphone, valued at Rs 19,000, was traced and recovered after a complaint was lodged by Faruk Mia on July 10 via the 139 Railway Helpline. The phone was reported lost at Guwahati Railway Station and registered under Rail Madad Complaint No. 2025071003459 and CEIR request ID: 20250610054493707. RPF Guwahati swiftly initiated tracking efforts through CEIR technology and ground-level coordination, successfully recovering the device from the Noonmati area on July 16. Following proper verification, the phone was handed over to the complainant’s authorized representative, Puneet Rajput, at the RPF Post.
