Guwahati: 48-hour water supply disruption in city on March 23-24

Guwahati: Residents of Guwahati are set to face temporary water supply disruptions as the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced maintenance work at the Panbazar Water Treatment Plant. The disruption will last from March 23 to March 24 due to the replacement of an existing High Tension (H.T.) pole at the plant.

The replacement work will be carried out by the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) and is expected to take approximately 48 hours from the commencement of execution. The corporation assured the residents that water supply will be restored as soon as the work is completed.

The water supply disruption will impact several key localities in the city, including Panbazar, Fancy Bazar, Athgaon, A.T. Road, Chatribari, Paltanbazar, Rehabari, Kacharibasti, B. Barua Road, Ulubari, Gandhibasti, South-Sarania, Lachit Nagar, Bhangagarh, Rajgarh, and Pub-Sarania.

GMC has urged residents of these areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and store sufficient water to meet their daily requirements. The corporation has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and has sought the cooperation of the citizens in managing the temporary disruption.

Authorities have assured that they will expedite the process and resume normal water supply at the earliest. Residents are advised to stay updated through official GMC announcements.
