Guwahati: 9-member gang of dacoits nabbed, legal proceedings initiated

Guwahati: A team from Basistha Police Station, in collaboration with Jorabat Outpost, chased down and intercepted a number plateless truck near the 13 Mile area, leading to the arrest of nine members of a notorious gang of dacoits. The arrested have been identified as Mofidul Ali (28) of Krishnai, Mominur Ali (25) of Matia, Khairul Haque (35) of Boko, Gajiyar Rahman (25) of Rangjuli, Fajal Haque (40) of Chaygaon, Muhar Ali (23) of Chaygaon, Niranjan Rabha (29) of Boko, Sameer Ali (41) of Rangjuli, and Manjur Ali (31) of Boko.

Police recovered three different vehicle number plates, several tools used in lootings, and nine mobile phones from their possession. All the accused are wanted in multiple criminal cases, including one registered at Barama Police Station and others across the state. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
