Guwahati: A+ grade schools asked to spend incentives on innovative activities

GUWAHATI: The Samagra Shiksha, Assam (SSA), has written to ADCs (Education), SSA’s district mission coordinators, inspectors of schools, and DEEOs (district elementary education officers) to ensure the utilisation of the incentives paid to schools graded A+ during Gunotsav-2024 for innovative activities.

In its letter, the SSA said that at the March 27, 2025, programme held in Guwahati, the Chief Minister had directed that ‘all A+ schools of Gunotsav 2024 should utilise the said incentives for innovative activities’.

“You are, therefore, directed to inform respective schools to utilise the incentives for innovative activities. You are also directed to inform said schools to hold a special school management committees (SMCs)/school management development committees (SMDCs) meeting and decide the areas of innovative activities for utilisation of incentives. The minutes of the meeting are to be maintained,” the SSA said, adding, “A detailed record of expenditure of activity/activities is to be kept properly by SMCs/SMDCs, and a utilisation certificate is to be submitted to the block and DI offices concerned immediately after utilisation.”

As many as 11,594 schools got an A+ grade during Gunotsav 2024. A total amount of Rs 28,98,50,000 was released among the A+ grade schools at the rate of Rs 25,000 each.
