Guwahati: In a landmark step towards ensuring access to justice for the Armed Forces community, the Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA) will inaugurate a legal services clinic at Sainik Bhawan, Rajgarh, on July 26.
The initiative is part of the newly launched “NALSA Veer Parivar Sahayata Yojana, 2025”, a national scheme formulated by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to provide free and competent legal assistance to serving Defence Personnel, ex-servicemen, and their families.
The Guwahati clinic is among several such centres being set up nationwide and will be virtually inaugurated by the Executive Chairman of NALSA during the Regional Conference scheduled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir on July 26 and July 27.
Established in collaboration with the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Government of Assam, the clinic will act as a dedicated legal support hub, working with the Kendriya Sainik Board, Zila Sainik Boards, and Rajya Sainik Boards under the Ministry of Defence. Beneficiaries will also have access to NALSA’s wide network of legal aid lawyers across India for timely legal assistance.
Officials described the initiative as a tribute to the sacrifices of India’s servicemen and women, reflecting NALSA’s core motto—“Access to Justice for All.”
