Guwahati: Assam Police have continued their intensified drive against individuals accused of promoting anti-Hindu and anti-national sentiments. As part of the ongoing crackdown, two more persons have been arrested in separate incidents reported from Tinsukia and Nagaon districts.
In Tinsukia, Md Anisur Rehman was apprehended for allegedly sharing objectionable content targeting the Hindu religion. Police officials stated that his remarks were inflammatory and hurt religious sentiments, prompting swift legal action.
In a similar incident, Farijul Islam was arrested by Nagaon Police for reportedly making derogatory comments about Lord Ram on social media platforms. Authorities confirmed that a case has been registered, and necessary procedures are underway.
So far, Assam Police have arrested a total of 97 individuals in connection with anti-national and anti-Hindu activities.
