
GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the holistic development of every student is a collective effort of the government and society. Therefore, government and civil society must come on the same plane with a common action plan to ensure the all-round development of the students.
Attending the closing ceremony of Samutkarsh Mahasivir, which brought together five thousand students from different states of the Northeast at Sarusajai Sports Complex here today, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma said that every student must strive to become a valuable human resource, embracing challenges and sacrifices to propel the state and the nation to a greater height. He also said that it is through relentless effort that students can ignite a renaissance in every sphere of their lives.
Hailing the Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra for organizing the programme, the Chief Minister said that Samutkarsh Mahasivir is a transformative initiative that would foster self-realisation, cultural values, and social harmony. He also said that Vidya Bharati is committed to imparting education right from the primary stage to higher education, giving unprecedented impetus to bring about spiritual and moral transformation in the students through the use of the mother tongue. He also said that Vidya Bharati imparts value-based education through a set of curricula with the help of its network of around seven hundred schools scattered across the length and breadth of the region.
The Chief Minister also said that the Samutkarsh Mahasivir has imparted instructions and knowledge to the participating students to gain self-realization and responsibility towards society and the environment. He said that the performance of the 5000 students who performed Ghosh and 1,000 students who showcased Bihu reflected holistic development and national pride.
The Chief Minister said that today's youth, besides attaching value to the traditional system of education, should look towards the future to make them fit and relevant to the profound changes that the world is going through. He also said that using ancient values and knowledge along with the knowledge of the 21st century, everybody should contribute to making India viswaguru by 2047. The Chief Minister also said that artificial intelligence and other related technologies like blockchain, big data analysis, mobile internet, cloud computing, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, quantum computing, advanced genomics, 3D printing, and gene editing would transform India into a superpower. He also said that the students should be empowered to become competent for Industry 4.0.
Chief Minister Sarma, referring to the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India Viksit by 2047, said that all the students should make concerted efforts to contribute to the transformation of the nation. The Chief Minister moreover expressed his happiness after attending the Samutkarsh Mahashivir organised by Vidya Bharati Purvottar Kshetra, which has brought together 5000 students from NE. Mesmerised by the immense talent and potential of the youths, who displayed some extraordinary performances, the Chief Minister said that after witnessing their acts, he is confident that in the coming years, they will become great to lead the nation to its rightful position.
