Guwahati: One more person has been arrested by the Guwahati Crime Branch for allegedly providing logistical support to banned militant outfits from the Northeast. The individual, identified as Biswajit Roy, a grocer, was apprehended on Thursday night from the Beltola area of the city.

According to police sources, a total of five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case so far. Among them, three were from Nagaland, one from Baksa district, and the latest Biswajit Roy is from Beltola.

Police suspect that the group was involved in plotting subversive activities in the city. The arrests have sparked concern over a possible resurgence of militant links and plans to disrupt peace in Guwahati.
